REQUIREMENTS TO BE A STREET PASTOR

To be a Street Pastor you need to be a Christian with at least 12 months continuous attendance at your church. References will be taken from your pastor and from another who is nominated by you. If you are accepted, once you begin training arrangements will be made for a Criminal Records Bureau check to be completed. There is no upper age limit.

You will be expected to complete about 10 sessions of trai9ning which will prepare you for the work you have to do on the streets. This will be tailored for Newport and will be delivered mainly by local people who know the area. There will also be some input by trainers nominated by Ascension Trust.

Once you have completed the training you will be formally Commissioned

We can’t start another training course until there is enough people interested, please send off your form and once we have the minimum numbers we can put up dates of when the courses will run.
